Casual Long Weekend

This Victoria Day long weekend we spent it hanging around the city… and it was wonderful! The weather was top notch and we spent most of our time wandering around an eerily quiet city. The only exception was the Seawall, which, the moment it gets anything other than rain, all Vancouverites suddenly pop up and head to the Seawall — including us! We spent our time exploring the city, taking leisurely bike rides and — if you follow me on Instagram you already know this — we visited one of my favourite shops: the Latest Scoop!

I remember the first time I stumbled upon the Latest Scoop. It was during high school and I was window shopping along South Granville. For those of you who don’t know, South Granville is a very posh shopping area that a broke teenager could only dream to shop at — think Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Boboli… you get the picture.

But the Latest Scoop was different! They had cute, trendy pieces at affordable rates. The only catch – they were a pop up… so I knew I had to stock up while I could. I realized the other day I still have one of the camisoles I bought my first trip (I don’t wear it, promise, I just keep it for old times sake).

These days, this one-time pop up shop is now a lifestyle concept store, offering fashion, furniture, home décor, accessories, footwear and gifts in not one, not two but THREE permanent stores around the city. I literally have no excuse not to shop: I can support local (you know how much I love to do that) PLUS I can pick up the latest, trendiest items at a reasonable price that won’t break your budget or wallet.

Be sure to check out their retail locations in Gastown, South Granville or West Vancouver. My entire outfit is from there! I love how breezy this top is and is on point with the off the shoulder trend. I’m wearing a Medium here — I’d suggest sizing down to a Small or even Extra Small! And these high waisted jean shorts are so soft and incredibly comfy. There’s no dancing to get them on and they fit incredibly well.
