One of my goals this year was to take more time for myself – to take care of my body and make sure I listened to the signs it was telling me. Well, in less than 2 weeks I fell off the wagon. The first 15 days of January were, excuse my French, balls-to-the-wall crazy. My weekends were jam packed with people, errands, meetings and things that I swore I was going to get done in 2016 but never did. Combined with a full time day job and ohmygosh, I barely had time to breathe.
And now I’m sick. Which comes as no surprise. My sore throat and raspy voice is my body’s way of telling me to slow down and take care of myself. Something that I forgot about literally within 2 weeks of making this goal. Which makes me mad and quite frankly, disappointed with myself.
But it’s not about what I could do have done or how neglectful I was. It’s about getting better and moving forward, focusing on what I can do and taking a proactive approach to my overall health and wellness. Which is why this weekend Reid and I are taking a small staycation in this city we call home. We’ll be checking into the Sheraton Wall Centre for a much-needed weekend of R&R.
I’m so excited to explore Vancouver from a different perspective and take the time to fully explore and re-discover my hometown. Of course I’ll be sharing my adventures on Instagram Stories so be sure you’re following me!
