My Favourite Things: December Edition

Blink and it’s gone. How has another month gone by? Scratch that – an entire year! I promise a more in-depth post in a few more days that reflects more on this past year, but for now I wanted to share my favourite things from this month with you. I can personally attest that these are all awesome and will definitely be making guest appearances in all my gifts to my friends and family!

Rothman & Co. Ava Sheets: I’ve had IKEA sheets for as long as I can remember. There’s nothing wrong with them at all but I recently upgraded to the white Ava sheets from Rothman & Co. and hot dang, I’ve never slept better. They’re 100% Egyptian cotton, made in Canada AND has a thread count so high you’ll think you’re cuddled up in a swanky hotel. How can you say no to that?

The Soup Solution’s Chicken Noodle SoupShhhhh, this is my not-so-secret weapon in the kitchen! I met Gayle aka the Soup Solution through Instagram (as one does these days) and it quickly became apparent that this lady knows what she’s talking about! Her soups are INSANE and are the perfect remedy for a cold winter night… or really any night for that matter. Give this lady a follow on Instagram, and be prepared for some awesome tips, tricks and recipe inspiration that’ll make you want to stop what you’re doing and start eating immediately.

Saje Peppermint Halo: My obsession with Saje started years ago and has expanded exponentially since then. I used to get the worst migraines post-concussion and my usual fixes of caffeine and/or Advil was on the no-go list. What’s a girl to do?! Then a friend “introduced” me to the Peppermint Halo stick (she actually forced me down and rolled it all over my head and neck) and within minutes, all symptoms of my migraine were gone! I swear by this roller and literally have one in every bag… plus a spare or two.

withinUs TruMarine CollagenAbout a year ago I noticed my hair was starting to thin out. My boyfriend thought I was crazy at the time, but honestly it was way more than the average bunch that comes out when you brush your hair. Enter TruMarine Collagen – not just for the lips (as I naively thought), but essential in promoting healthy joints, bone density, firm/elastic skin, strong nails and thicker hair. To be honest, my biggest concern was my hair so I haven’t been paying as much attention to the other benefits, but within a year I’ve noticed I have a lot more baby hair coming in around my hairline, as well as super long eyelashes – not what I was expecting but hey, I’ll take it!

North Shore by Vancouver Candle Co.: My candle obsession continues. I have so many favourites: Woodlot, Lucia and Diptyque, to name just a few, but the latest has been North Shore by local company, Vancouver Candle Co. Now I may not live on the North Shore but their scent makes me want to! Woodsy pine is my weakness and they got it spot on with this slow burning candle. Plus it’s only $38 which, with a 60 hour burn time, works out to be a hell of a great deal!

Have you used any of these products before? I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below.
